Please prepare to spend 15-20 minutes to fill up this application form. To apply as a team, please ensure you have your team members' basic details such as full name, email address and mobile number. The team members will then receive an automated email with the registration form to complete their application.

Program Eligibility
To qualify for the YSEALI Game Changers program, the applicant must:

  • Be aged 18 to 35 years at the time of the application.
  • Be a citizen and a resident of one of the following countries: Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam.
  • Be a YSEALI member. You may either be an existing YSEALI member, or you can become a member at
  • Be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Have knowledge and some experience in game design, game programming, animation, narrative design, scriptwriting, storytelling, audio/music production, or other relevant game development skills.
  • Demonstrate interest, knowledge, or professional experience in addressing issues of social importance or driving social change.
  • Submit the program application as a team of two to five individuals. Individuals may also apply and can be considered on a space-available basis.

Selected Participants Commitment

  • All selected participants must commit to attend all four days of the in-person Workshop & Game Jam in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Travel and accommodation will be provided to participants traveling to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • All team members of the winning teams awarded seed funding from the game jam will be required to undergo a three-month remote mentorship program from June to August 2023.
  • Participants must commit to applying leadership skills and know-how to benefit your community, country, or the ASEAN region.
  • Participants are free to choose the theme of their game design, however the game is required to be impact-driven by having a measurable social impact goal and/or call to action in issues of societal importance such as diversity and inclusion, financial literacy, climate change, humanitarian efforts or other issues of social importance in your community.
  • The game design idea should also align with one of the following broad YSEALI themes:
    • Civic Engagement
    • Economic Empowerment and Social Entrepreneurship
    • Education
    • Environment and Natural Resources


  • Successful applicants will be informed six weeks prior to the in-person program to allow for travel and make time away from work arrangements.
  • The final status of the in-person program is contingent upon the Covid-19 situation in the U.S. and globally. The program may be canceled, delayed or pivoted to virtual should the pandemic situation deteriorate closer to the program dates.
